Population Pyramids
Turlock's pyramid is stable. I think is stable because some people come to Turlock for education purposes as well as leave to find higher positioned jobs.
Seattle's pyramid seems to be declining. The reason for this is because people come the city to get education or jobs and maybe some focus on their priorities such as school or work.
Boston has a declining pyramid because people maybe be going to this city for education such as college and university purposes.
New York's population seems to be stable to declining. The purpose for this is because some move into the city for work.
Portland's population is also declining because people move in for new job opportunities.
San Diego's population seems to be stable because people move in to go to school, get jobs, and the border to Mexico is close.
The population for Miami Beach is declining because people go for job opportunities.
I found it interesting that August 2017 was one of the hottest years. i wonder if it was due to carbon in the air or because of something else.
May 13, 2014 was one the biggest droughts in both California and Texas. This caught my eye because every year Texas and California would have a drought and some were severe.
I found the total precipitation interesting because Deceber 2015 was one of the only times where the Northwest and Southeast got 4 to 8 inches of rain at the sametime.
June 16 was one of the biggest historical probabilty of severe weather and it hit the middle states such as Kansas and Oklahoma. This was nearly all north and south side of the US.
I found this interesting because 2008 had some of the hottest waters and some parts of the suface is hotter while others are cooler even when they are close together.
The most diverse parking lot on the school campus was the student parking lot because they had a variety of colored cars from white to orange while the staff parking lot did not have much variety in colored cars. The most abundant species in the student parking lot was the black colored cars, this may be because black is a default color while giving a more professional feel to the car in addition black cars seem to be more expensive due to its popular color. In the staff parking lot, the most abundant species was the grey or silver colors. The reason to this is because a silver color also gives a professional feel and the color represents a luxury item. Black, grey, sliver, and white were the most popular colors in the parking lot mainly due to there expensive look and professional feel. The minimum value for the Shannon Diversity Index would be 1.658726204, the maximum was 1.874697746.
Wooly Worm Lab
A) The degree of freedom used in the exercise was 6.
B)
C) The calculated Chi-square value was 79.23.
D) The results indicate that chance alone was not the cause of the unequal numbers of capture wooly worm phenotypes because some wooly worms blended in with the environment more than others.
E) Worms with a light green color such as Boogie and Olive Garden were subjected to positive selection pressure because their light colors gave them the ability to blend in with the environment. Worms that were red or blue such as the Firelash and Rainbow Dash were subjected to negative selection pressure because their bright and bold colors made them easy to spot.
F) The results indicate that Boogie's and Olive Garden's population would increase over time while other populations such as Firelash will decrease over time.
G) Such characteristics like feeding time, feeding habits, ability to see color determine selections of certain worms because it could make it easier to harder for a predator to see and at certain points in time like day make some colors noticeable than others.
H) If the school ground never changed then the light skinny worm would grow and make up most of the population while other bolder and darker colors would go into extinction or head towards extinction.
